The Story

In The Days of My Youth supports regenerative agriculture and, specifically regenerative cotton farms and their farmers. Without compromising luxury quality and feel, we are able, through a self-developed supply chain, to produce garments made from 100% regenerative cotton, not a part of a mass process and fully traceable to the farm where it was grown. While not all of our products are regenerative, currently 80% of our garments are 100%. We are hoping, through research and development and further learning, to increase that percentage by the end of 2025.

We believe regenerative agriculture is essential to protecting our planet for a better future. As defined by the USDA, primary climate smart practices for cotton include “cover crops, no or conservation tillage, nutrient management and other soil health practices” — in other words, a variety of regenerative agriculture practices that help growers reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve carbon sequestration.

Regenerative agriculture also describes farming practices that can create a positive impact on the environment and productivity. By adopting practices such as no-till or reduced tillage, crop rotation, cover crops, integrated pest management, composting and livestock, play pivotal roles in achieving regenerative agriculture’s goals. They improve soil quality, enable water retention, reduce erosion and foster a biodiverse ecosystem while generating additional revenue streams.

These methods ensure that the fiber production process does not destroy land and soil, but instead actively rebuilds and restores it with measurable benefits – helping to fight climate change and protect biodiversity also enables farmers and local communities to flourish and thrive.

We started buying bales of regenerative cotton, direct from the farms years ago, before it was widely known and long before much of the information we have today was available. We are still learning. We can’t claim to save the planet but we can do our part to make it better.
